Team Building Is Meant For Profit
|
| |
I. Preparing the Mission
Creative projects
infused with the power of metaphor and imagination inspire
commitment to your shared corporate mission.
Vision oriented people
strive to be the best that they can be. A vision means we are
planning and creating our future rather than just reacting to the
demands of each day. |
II. Team Member Development
Starting with the
INDIVIDUAL not the team gets to the core of the team building
process. The interactive aspect of our system is vital to effect
long-term improvement and change. |
III. Team Building & Learning
By developing goals
collectively participants will learn to work strategically, as a
team, toward achievement of an organization's goals |
IV. The Environment of Trust
Creating an environment
for teams that is conducive to learning takes time and must cater to
the needs of both the leader and team members. Working together on
tasks which are unfamiliar or which require a high degree of
interdependence develops trust. Trust is earned over time. It is
established in a safe environment. |
V. The Feed-Back Process
At each step employees
will want to share concerns and offer new goals. The process of
saying THANK-YOU and “good job” is essential: this communication
builds rapport between you and your team. Therefore an effective
feedback process is at the heart of building great teams.
There may also be
times when effectiveness is diminished by the actions of a few;
immediate action is necessary to ensure that the process stays on
track. The feedback process relies upon a pre-agreed upon
performance criteria. |
VI. Measurable results
When assessing any
program’s effectiveness an accurate and measurable process must be
put in place before the action is under-taken. Team building
programs should be no exception.
Often they are not held
to the same rigorous scrutiny as other training expenditures are.
They should be assessed as to their potential contribution to
overall profitability or revenue or both. |
